If you want to change your life, What you do every day matters more than what you do occasionally.
When I was in the fitness industry, my personal training clients always wanted results fast. So they would inevitably ask, “What’s the most important thing I need to get results?” My answer was always, “Consistency.”
In fitness and in life, you are more likely to see results from making small changes that you can do regularly than from setting big goals that fizzle out in a week.
If you are dissatisfied with life in some way, I have learned that there are eight habits that can change your life in just sixty days.
• Replacing your negative thoughts.
The way you think has a tremendous impact on your life, because where your mind goes, your body follows. Don’t think all you have to do is think it’s all good. You also have to grab any negative thoughts before they contaminate your life. Take my Toxic Thoughts Assessment to see if your thoughts are holding you back in life.
• Cultivating an attitude of gratitude.
Check yourself before you wreck yourself was a common saying in the 90s but its meaning still holds true. How you see your situation will have a greater impact than your actual reality. Did you get out of a comfortable bed with running water? You’ve got it better than most.
• Dumping toxic friends (and even family members).
• Embracing solitude.
• Learning the art of forgiveness.
• Getting more sleep.
Do I even need to list this? Apparently, I do, since the average American has fooled themselves into thinking that five to six hours of sleep is good enough. It’s not. If you want to change your life, get more sleep. Watch, you’ll see.
• Working with a life coach (or counselor).
We all need help from time to time. Working with a counselor to get past issues or a coach to move you forward could save you valuable time and bring more joy and happiness into your life.
• Spending 15 minutes a day with God’s Word.
There are no two ways about it:God’s Word transforms us. For those who are open to receive the love and instruction found in its pages, the Bible holds life-changing power. Spend time reading His Word every day and watch your life change before your eyes. There is nothing magic about the number 15, but it is a good starting point.
Little, consistent changes can lead to amazing life changes. If adding small but consistent changes over time can yield great fitness results, imagine what they can do for your entire life.
Implement these 8 simple habits into your routine and watch your life begin to transform right before your eyes.
Which habit will you implement first? I can’t wait to hear about your success.
