The Caretaker

Your results are in… and you are The Caretaker

As the caretaker, you likely put the needs of others above your own. This may sound like a Christ-like quality but you do it to a destructive degree. As a result, you don’t take care of yourself and your mental, emotional and even spiritual health are in jeopardy.

You likely believe that you can make other people happy (and happy with you) if you never say No.

What you may not realize is that behind that goal-oriented drive, is someone who will never be able to tend to your own needs, much less the purpose God has for your life.

Many caretakers have been taught from a young age that they only matter if they are serving others.

The problem with continuing in this mindset is that you will likely attract people in your life who will take advantage of you, even if they don’t mean to.

While we are called to be servants of Christ, this does not mean always sacrificing our own needs.

Here’s a question to consider:

“What if the enemy is using this disease to please to keep me from all that God has for me and wants from me?”

Perhaps consider meditating on:

Colossians 3:23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, and Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.
