The Mood Monitor

Your results are in… and you are The Mood Monitor

If you had a motto, it would be:  “I do it because I care”.

You can’t seem to say no, no matter how much you want to.  The thought of being direct, honest, and vulnerable scares your socks off.

Your need to be liked drives your every decision.

Your need to make others happy has blurred the line between people-pleasing and codependency.  It’s highly likely that you’re not okay unless others are happy with you.

As a result, you are frequently monitoring the moods of others, so you can adjust your behaviors to accommodate them.

It’s likely draining you dry as you expend all of your mental, emotional, and physical energy on others (even when they’re not around).

Then when all of your reserves run out, you’re left feeling resentful because no one ever takes care of you.

You likely yell and cry to express your frustration only to revert right back to your mood monitoring, people-pleasing ways as soon as your energy returns.

This is a vicious cycle that needs to stop.

It’s impossible to be responsible for everyone and have genuine, fulfilling relationships.

Here’s a question to consider:

“Who do I need to forgive for making me believe that I’m only worthy when I’m of use to someone?”

Scriptures to meditate on:

Proverbs 29:25 The fear of man lays a snare, but whoever trusts in the Lord is safe.

Romans 12:2. Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect.
