Dealing with toxic people can be emotionally draining and challenging. They may hurt us, manipulate us, or constantly bring negativity into our lives. In such situations, forgiving these individuals may seem impossible or undeserved. However, in this collection, we will explore the concept of forgiving toxic people, even when they don’t deserve it.

How Does One Deal with Toxic People Biblically?

Toxic people are individuals who consistently exhibit harmful behavior, whether through manipulation, criticism, or a constant negative attitude. Their actions can leave deep wounds and negatively impact our emotional well-being. It is important to recognize that toxic behavior often stems from their own personal struggles, insecurities, unresolved traumas, or demonic influence. However, understanding the root causes does not excuse their behavior, but it can help us learn how to set boundaries with toxic people.

What Does the Bible Say About Toxic Family Members?

Toxic family members can have a detrimental impact on our emotional well-being, relationships, and overall quality of life. Recognizing and effectively dealing with toxic family members is essential for our mental and emotional health. Holding a title in someone’s life does not give them the right to abuse others.

Proverbs 6:16-19 reminds us that the Lord hates haughty eyes, a lying tongue, shedding innocent blood, devising wicked plans, running to evil, bearing false witness, and sowing discord among brothers. This includes toxic family members.

How to Forgive Even When They Don’t Deserve it?

Forgiveness is a powerful tool that can liberate us from the burden of carrying resentment and bitterness. It is not about condoning or forgetting the toxic person’s actions, but rather about following the biblical command to release others into God’s hands and allow His justice to prevail. When we forgive, we choose to let go of negative emotions and reclaim our own inner peace and happiness.

How to set boundaries with forgiveness does not mean allowing toxic people back into our lives. It is essential to establish healthy boundaries and protect ourselves from further harm. Forgiveness can be accompanied by the wisdom to maintain distance and prioritize our own well-being. Forgiving toxic people when they don’t deserve it is a courageous act that promotes our own healing and growth. By choosing forgiveness, we break free from the cycle of negativity and create space for positivity, peace, and personal transformation.

How to Set Boundaries and Still Honor Your Parents, Even When They Are Toxic?

Establishing clear boundaries is crucial when dealing with toxic individuals, regardless of their title or relationship to us. Boundaries are necessary in every relationship. Determine what behaviors are acceptable and communicate your boundaries by speaking the truth in love. It may be essential to limit interaction with toxic family members. It is possible to honor your toxic parents from a distance.

Hi, I’m Kris!

I’m Kris Reece—an author and speaker who has spent the better part of two decades immersed in the world of toxic relationships—studying them professionally, enduring them personally, and examining them biblically—all to bring you the best of what I’ve lived and learned.

Today, I help Christians recognize toxic and narcissistic patterns, break free from codependency, set biblical boundaries, and stop getting pulled into cycles that leave them confused, exhausted, and questioning themselves.

Because recognizing a toxic person is only part of the work. You also need to know what to do when the blame gets shifted, the guilt kicks in, the boundary gets challenged, or you find yourself once again trying to explain, fix, manage, or carry someone who refuses to take responsibility for themselves.

I’ve authored four books, including my latest, Breaking the Narcissist’s Grip, created numerous online courses, and published hundreds of videos that have reached millions of people around the world.

Everything I create has one goal: to help you see clearly what’s happening, know what’s yours to do about it, and stop losing yourself trying to change someone else.

That’s what I do.

But I know you’d probably rather know who I am
